Meet Lisa Keller

Lisa Keller is an Anchorage-born community leader, endurance athlete, small business owner, and nonprofit director with deep roots in Alaska’s outdoor and civic life. She grew up in Anchorage exploring the wilderness by riding bikes and building rafts near her home, became one of the first generations of girls to access expanded athletic opportunities following Title IX, and was a standout multi-sport athlete at East Anchorage High School before competing in collegiate soccer at the University of Oregon and her first triathlon in 1984.

Keller is the Executive Director of Running Free Alaska, a nonprofit that brings structured running programs to women incarcerated at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center and supports their reentry into the community, and she has longstanding experience coaching runners and triathletes through her company, Multisport Training of Alaska. From 2018 – 2025, she served as host of Outdoor Explorer on Alaska Public Media, where she highlighted outdoor recreation, conservation, and athleticism across the state.

In the Alaska State Legislature, she gained policy experience working as legislative staff for Rep. Andy Josephson and Rep. Alyse Galvin, a period she has described as valuable preparation for her future work as an Alaska State Legislator.

Outside of her professional life, Keller has two daughters, both of whom work in social services. One daughter is attending UAA. She has two twin grandsons.

Her Alaska upbringing, athletic achievements, and commitment to community wellness underscore her broader impact across civic, athletic, and nonprofit sectors.
