Voting by Mail (Absentee Voting)

If you plan to vote absentee:

Completed absentee ballots require $1.46 in postage (two Forever stamps). The U.S. Postal Service has stated that ballots will still be delivered even if postage is insufficient.

If you request an absentee ballot but decide to vote in person instead, you may still do so. Bring your absentee ballot with you to your polling place.

Alaska’s Voting System

Alaska uses open primaries and ranked choice voting. Voters may rank candidates in order of preference in the General Election. We encourage voters to review how ranked choice voting works before Election Day.
